BRYCE CANYON - THOR'S HAMMER. Bryce Canyon is an amazing display of the power of erosion. In the Grand Canyon, a little to the south, water has carved deep into the earth. Here at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, water has sculpted the sandstone into a fantasy world of "hoodoos" and other unique formations. This hoodoo is known as Thor's Hammer, was shot in the warm early morning glow of the rising sun. However it was very cold since it was wintertime as you can see by the patches of snow in the backgound. This photograph was shot with a 4x5 view camera with 210mm lens on color transparency film. I scanned the film and used Adobe Photoshop to adjust the final image.
